A few years back I saw a local internet add for a contest to win a free ride in a vintage B-25. I decided, what the heck, and entered the contest. It was an essay contest that required the entries to write a short essay on what it must have been like to have been a crew member on a B-25 during the Doolittle raid on Tokyo during WWII. To my great surprise I was one of the 6 winners. It was quite a thrill for me. I used to make models of the B-25 as a kid, and still consider it one of the manliest airplanes ever built. If I had the $$ to own and fly any airplane, the B-25 would be at the top of the list. Here is a short GoPro video of the ride.

Congratulations! Good going.
Believe it not, my first airplane ride was in a B-25 as well.

Congratulations on submitting a winning story.
I rode in "Maid in the Shade" in the summer of 2014, here in Airdrie. Very memorable.

Wow, some nice pictures there of some lucky fellows! I can't get over what a tough looking plane the B-25 was. Oh, if not for the cost of the avgas to run those big beautiful radials!
