Nope. Just a blank page opens up. This is perplexing and frustrating.

The shortfield.com widget

Chris,

Thanks for the tool. This really helped me put the location of some of those Idaho strips into perspective. I hope to get into several of them during the fly-in in a couple of weeks.

I also hope to meet you there, if you are going.

Regards,
Jack

I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

Wahoo!!! So I got into JFK early today and was sitting here catching up on my surfing, when the thought came to me to go see our IT guys. Actually, what made me think of going to see them is that I tried the link you sent to me Chris and nothing happened. Then I tried the other site that uses the same programing language. When I clicked on it, it said that I needed to install Adobe Player 9. Well that is supposedly the one I already had.

So, I ran down to the IT guys and had them sign on so I could install it. The result........it works now.

Sorry for the added work I created for you and Zane. Now I can play with the cool kids.

Thanks. I'm looking forward to checking it out.

By the way, I'll be up north this week and plan on hitting 15-20 strips. I'll post pireps and pics of those that we visit.

Hey everyone,

I just got back yesterday afternoon from ID. In the next few days I will get on and put some updates on shortfield. Here is a list of the strips we visited.

Smiley Creek
Bruce Meadows
JC
Big Creek
Cabin Creek
Soldier Bar
Bernard
Mahoney Creek
Thomas Creek
Indian Creek
Wilson Bar

Had a great time and can't wait to get back up there next week.

GSP,
Glad to hear you (or your IT guy) got it working and I'm looking forward to the posts! I was also in Idaho last week with a friends in his 185. I'll be posting some pics and videos over the next few days.

I will also be releasing an updated version of the widget/applet with more features, etc.

Unfortunately I won't be at JC, but I hope everyone has a great time!

Hey Chris,

Sorry to hear you won't make it to the fly-in, but glad you made it up last week. I tried to post some pics, but I think they must have been too large. It said that it uploaded, but instead of seeing it as a thumbnail, it was just black. When I clicked on it, it seemed to hang. The file size was at 1.2 mb. I'll try setting the camera to the email setting and see if that works better.

Thanks for the work you've put into it. It is great to have this tool.

GSP,
that is a known bug that I need to fix. It seems to happen when people post GIF images and/or if the file name has special characters in it. If you convert them to JPG first it will work. I also suggest resizing to no bigger than 800 pixels wide and 600 pixels hight.

I'll fix the bug in the next few days. Sorry for the inconvenience.

No problem. What's the easiest way to resize them. I did it once using the HP software that came with my computer and it was kind of a pain. Is there an easier way? I believe they are already in jpg format but I'll check.

Thanks
