Bandsaw Perfection

Have y'all seen on of these? It's a table that bolts up to your Milwaukee portable bandsaw and then clamps into an ordinary vice to make a pretty decent saw for cutting out of steel or alloys. My stand up 14" saw can be used for wood or light aluminum but I have to rig some pretty complex speed reduction to cut steel. The company is called Swag Off Road. This is the bottom of the line table. The others don't clamp into your handy vice. That's quarter inch steel by the way.

They also make some pretty spectacular brakes and other fabrication tools. Some clever people.

Re: Bandsaw Perfection

I like it.....my local welding shop had something similar, maybe the same, I just glanced at it, but what registered was a easily portable stand for a hand held saw, that could be damn handy.

Speaking of metal working tools, I am having a ball with my new plasma cutter. In the middle of a big project (4 10' by 22' steel racks for a huge solar array) my torch has not been used once. Especially beneficial as I have free electricity but have to BUY oxy/acy! I got the optional circle cutting gizmo, and despite how many cups of coffee I've had I can turn out perfect arcs and circles. A clamped straight edge makes long straight cuts easy also. I wish I would have bought one years ago.

The Milwaukee Porta-band is one of the greatest inventions of all time. They kick ass. Unfortunately my dad borrowed his back. :D

That table thingy you found might be perfection. I just use a cheap harbor freight Central Machinery thin blade bandsaw though. Seems to handle everything up to thin steel okay and it's variable speed.
