His mom proclaimed he should be let out of prison to pilot emergency missions to Haiti. The guy is as delusional as his mom. It's not surprising considering that his marbles are thoroughly melted by his mom's alcoholic pregnancy. I'll bet that tragedy won't make it into the movie. We can all be pissed off at this sort of thing, but I never saw the point in hating folks who are that screwed up. He's in a better place now for all of us. Hopefully, this silly movie idea can pay the victims back, in contrast to the bailed-out, delusional financial criminals who are still held by many as true-blue American heroes.
I've let plenty of elementary-aged kids do 70% of the 'flying' their first time in a plane from takeoff to approach- with plenty of guidance of judgement coming from the left seat. The basic mechanical skills involved are no great accomplishment. The skills needed to fly safely and consistently are what deserve all the respect, not the simple mechanical skills of 'driving' the plane.
Anyone can 'drive' a large, $500 million dollar Italian cruise ship, right?
