Re: bdiazair's trip reports

So my girlfriend basically bought me the coolest gift ever. I told her a while back about the survival vest and she actually went onto bcp and looked at the segment on survival vest and bought me the starter kit. I was very thankful.

Re: bdiazair's trip reports

Have any of the UT guys been out to Ibex lately? I was wondering when it's typically a good time to go in regards to lake bed conditions due to weather.

I haven't but I bet most of it is wet, especially with all the precip we've gotten lately.

Good girlfriend by the way!

Re: bdiazair's trip reports

I flew over Ibex today and it looked really wet. Now granted, I was at 34,000' and 10 miles south, but it was definitely wet. It looked like there might be a strip along the rock climbing area that might be dry, but we were obviously too far away to tell. Severe has more water on it than I remember seeing in recent years.

Thanks for the update Cory, I'll probably wait for it to dry out a bit before I head that way. I've been itching to go somewhere lately, I'll just have to keep it local for a while!

Re: bdiazair's trip reports

Decided to shoot the loop today, flew to Panamint with a buddy of mine (eric) in his Mooney, my 182 is down for some maintenance. We flew from Delano (DLO) to panamint for lunch, met Ben and Aaron, great guys. Had lunch and departed towards chicken strip. The weather was great and I look forward to go and stay overnight in Panamint with my GF. There was quite the cloud of dust after we departed Panamint!!

Catching a commercial flight out of LAX to Kodiak AK tomorrow morning for about ten days. Should be interesting!
