The owner would be stoked to hear you say that, he's spent a LOT of time and effort personalising it.
The full AV system and massive projector on the roof isn't half bad either

I take it this means the maiden flight was a success?

My bad.
I am surprised you guys didn't pick it up on the Bearhawk forum? But then again, that forum is taking its sweet sweet time to fully kick into life, I think the change from Yahoo Groups put a lot of guys off...

Yeah it flies real good.
I need to get some more photos.

I just found out this past week about the change. The Yahoo thing always put me off, I only keep up with the Stinson group since I actually have one....so I stopped doing the BH Yahoo group. now that it's got a forum going, I joined and will play catch up there.

Re: Bearhawk joining the ranks

Well, we've finished the test flying programme! :)
I'm going to give it the final look-over this weekend, then we'll be talking to the CAA about more approvals this coming Wednesday!
The Bearhawk sure delivers all the fun it promises. Can't wait for the next STOL contest this Feb....

Blackrock, if you're out there, I'd be keen to hear about the merits of VGs on a Bearhawk.

Re: Bearhawk joining the ranks

I'm here and lurking occasionally; otherwise just really busy with the new job and everything related to that and travel.

VG's improved slow flight control upon landing. In particular they made the last 10 feet to the runway more predictable and the decent rate easier to arrest. They may have cost me 1 or 2 mph in high power cruise and maybe dropped stall speed about the same. More experimentation before permanent attachment could change all that and should be done. I did some experimentation, but should have done more. They give the elevator more control authority and so do gap seals.

Did you put them on the underside of the elevator, or just atop the wing?

Awesome! Great to see another Bearhawk flying. I'm just getting moving on my Patrol project.
