Beaver vs 206 insurance cost?

I'm curious if anyone has an idea how much more it costs to insure a beaver than a cessna 206, private and on wheels?

Your best bet is to call one of the aviation insurance company's, give them as much info. on each you can, and they can give you an idea. Off the top off my head it seems that a beaver will probably cost you twice or more than the 206. Hull insurance will pay on a replacement cost basis if totaled.

Haha that's funny battson, I guess I should reword the question since I know how much the cessna is. How much does it cost to insure a private beaver?

?? as compared to one that is public?? I saw one on the corner in Spenard, not sure you get insurance on it though!! [-X
You might ask GUMP, I think they have some private and public ones in Nevada
I would venture to guess at a start 10% of the Hull Value for starters?? #-o

Ask them for their "Hull" value, and you won't get you far enough to need beaver insurance... \:D/

Re: Beaver vs 206 insurance cost?

The quotes I just got for a '76 U206F on wheels, 130k hull value, are $1650 with 100k/seat sub-limits and $2350 for $1 million smooth. Dunno about the Beaver with wings attached to it (although it sounds like the start of a fun tattoo . . . .)

Ya it's Triple!! So no beaver for this guy to fly:-( getting another 206 looks like.

The cost per lb per mile is really close but the maintenance and insurance cost on the beaver killed the idea, the ol 206 is too hard to beat.

Re: Beaver vs 206 insurance cost?

I've found the costs for maintaining my beaver have been exorbitant, but necessary if I want to keep access to it. The Christmas season is particularly costly.

Priced a public beaver when I was in a German bar last week. I wasn't interested in the first place, but the cost/lbs wasn't ideal if I had been.

Which once again highlights a universal truth....

If if flys, floats, or f**ks, it's cheaper to rent than buy.

You should still make them. But have them sold at Skinny Dick's Halfway Inn.

Sadly, Skinny Dick's burnt to the ground. I'm not sure when it caught fire but when I drove by last Summer it was rubble.

As in 'Skinny Dick's Clear Inn'? That was a Mr. Whitekeys line!

Funny, I actually drove past there today and it appeared to have new-made signs out front and several sound structures.
