Ryan ST-A for open hole, and a Beech 18 for twin. Little planes, would have to be my Tcraft.

God put me here to accomplish a certain amount of things...right now I'm so far behind, I'll never die!!

The best lookin' aircraft is whatever I'm flying.

I don't know that I have a favorite of all time, but you guys have listed some great planes! My dad used to fly a Duke - looked like it was going 300mph on the ground.
Of course, the mighty Cessna 140 :D
Staggerwing has to be in there too.
Heres a shot of a friend of mine's Lancair - pretty sweet!

And I do like the spectrum 33 - prior to crash :(

I love the stagger wing as well. By the way, did you all read the article on the Duke in AOPA last month? Great looking airplane that they now are putting turbines on, turning it into one heck of a hotrod. I'd probably never own one because it doesn't fit what I want to do, but the article alone made me want to fly one. The $1.3 mil price tag did put a bit of a damper on that, though.

I too am in the Stinson Gullwing camp. They have the nicest shaped wings of all, and if you've ever seen them uncovered, you'd wonder why they cover up such a work?
I also love the machismo ooozing looks of the 195, but truth be told I think the c165 has sweeter lines.

The Staggerwing has always been one of my favorites. Although I am really intrigued by the Dornier.

If we were to mention military a/c, the P-51D and P-38 Lightning rate pretty high with me.

Hi N6EA,

You are way beyond the boundries ! [-X I was originally going to say a PBY Catalina, but thought ,who is going to buy that in a GA topic! I must admit though that Dornier is a pretty sweet rig! what did they replace the 1820s with?

PBY, what's wrong with calling that GA??? Heck Jimmy Buffett flys his own Grumman Goose. I think they used PT-6's to replace the old BMW radials.

I would have to go for the globe swift, polished, of course! Then would be the reliant, staggerwing, early 180's.....

How come all the planes I like the most were built 20 years before I was born??

2nd vote for the Beaver. Call me immature, but every time I see one I'm just dying to go up to whoever's flying it and say, "Hey, nice Beaver!"

Actually I'd have to vote for the Reliant on the GA side and the Corsair on the mil side - something about the shape of those wings...

Haf,

Yes to the coast, may drive (foggy am forecast) there will be enough flying waiting for me there. Submited to the ins. co. for the Thrush today, may have to do a turbine transition though...
BTW for anyone at all interested in Gullwings and near central AZ.... Julie White of Aero Services in Eloy is Recovering / Rebuilding a Reliant. It is worth the drive / fly in just to see how cool these wings are uncovered. And Julies fabric work and attention to detail is just amazing as well!!!

I would have to say Taylorcraft BC12D, and PA-11s. Both in yellow of course.
