Best mountain flying book/documentary
Share tips, techniques, or anything else related to flying.
Anyone have a favorite? Looking for a good resource or two to have on hand in the event a possible relocation to Denver goes through.
Thanks

Mountain Flying by Doug Geeting is probably my favorite. You can pick up a copy on Amazon. The below copy I aquired at Oshkosh in the ‘80s when it came out.

Mountain Flying Bible by Sparky Imeson & Flying The Mountains by Fletcher Anderson.
Both very informative books. Chock full tips & techniques gleened from years of first hand mountain experiences.
Ironically both of these authors died in low-level flying accidents in the mountains. Guess nobody's perfect.

Amy Hoover is working on a new book on this topic. Will be published by ASA. Not sure of release date. I’ve read a chapter, and this should be a good one.

Yep and I believe Dick Williams is involved in the project. Should be a great resource when it comes out later this summer.

That is correct, Dick is the Co-author. It’ll be nice to have a new book on the subject.

I really like the McCall Mountain /Canyon Flying Seminars book. I have not taken the course but found this book to be an incredible good resource. It was written by Lori MacNIchol-Gregory
I think you have to purchase it from the their Website - mountaincanyonflying.com

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
