Re: Best tandem seat trainer?

Blu,
I'll be home in a few weeks before I head to Fairbanks for fire season. I'm located at Wolf Lake. If you haven't flown one yet, I'd be happy to take you up in my 7GCBC if you'd like, get a feel for it.

Different Jim here, but...

Funny how most of the people I admire the most in aviation are the self-deprecating ones. I met Bob Hoover and Paul Poberezny at OSH once, when I was walking through the grass, obviously hot and tired. They stopped (in Paul's "Big Red One" Volksconvertiblelimousize") and offered me a ride. I was awestruck to be in the presence of two of my biggest heroes, but both of them just wanted to know what I flew (Army OH-58's at the time) and spent the entire 5-10 minutes I was with them asking questions about the mission, flight characteristics, etc.

I'm hoping and praying that at least one of my three granddaughters will become a pilot. It would be awesome to be able to say about one of them that she is a professional pilot, and even better that she is a back-country pilot. You're a great role model for them!
