Best yet....

I've been following the development of these one wheel thingies, or whatever they are called, and this one looks pretty cool. I have my e bike of course, but why don't one of you guys get one and let me know how it goes?! It would take up little room in a plane, and be ready to ride instantly once out.

Re: Best yet....

That does look amazing, but I like the skateboard feeling of the one wheel.

My problem with any this technology is that I don’t want to go camping in the wilderness to listen to a generator running. I’d rather have a gas engine on the wheel itself.

Extremely hard to beat a bicycle, or unicycle if you must be weird.

Bonus point to the unicycle, since it takes up less space than a bike!

(Spoken as one who has busted his butt every single time he's tried to ride a unicycle on flat, level surfaces... Can't even imagine trying to ride one in the backcountry!)

Re: Best yet....

I take it back, the first EUC is too damn slow, only 31 mph, this one can hit 65 mph !

About weirdness: One thing I really like about my ebike in the plane, is how it looks so normal, so unweird. I like that I can cruise around in a small town, like last week in Phillipsburg, MT, eyeballing the old homes and other buildings, and be pretty much invisible. Just some guy out for a bike ride, not a circus act. Not to mention, that a 26" wheel will roll over things a smaller wheel can't. Go to 3:05 for the good part, ouch.

Looks like fun but this guy is obviously a pro. My balance isn't what it used to be.

Re: Best yet....

I got sideways on a steep section of rocky trail a few days ago, my first good wreck of this year on my fat e bike. I forgot my leather gloves, both hands are now abraded and scabbed over, both elbows, and one shoulder. What amazed me was the loud noise my helmet made when it hit the ground, WHAM. At least I remembered it, I still have a sore head 5 days later, from hitting the inside of the helmet, but better then a big gash. I watch the video's of these EUC's of guys weaving thru traffic while going 40 mph, and holding a selfie stick and talking, and feel old as hell! I can afford to buy one, that's the scary part, must resist. The bikes beat me up enough, more then flying anything ever has, no contest.
