I'll be posting most of the details of this engine change and airframe refresh on another forum but I thought I'd share the invoice for my engine build. It's not any more than a junk yard motor with logs but I'll feel much better with this engine that I build myself than I ever would with a junk yard engine.
As you can see it's pretty complete. I already have the sump & intakes, accessory case, carb, mags, alternator, starter, (which needs to be changed out to a light weight) all off of the GPU that the builder put together back in '66. The crank has a very small and inconsequential blemish on one of the rod journals and so is not yellow tagged. It has no SB505 problems. Everything else is either NEW or Y/T by AC specialties.
I'll be starting fresh logs on it.
If anyone wants to know where this deal came from PM me and I'll let you know. And Zzzz. This guy is in Bozeman and has been established for over 30 years. I don't think I could have done better anywhere. He has a mechanic who will put things together for $3K and run it in on a test cell if you don't want to build it up on your own. You should at least call him about an O-540.

The quote from Crankcase Services to bore the crankcase for an 0-320 application will be $250.
The quote for the parts package for your 0-320 is as follows:
1 ea new 0-290D2 crankcase (that's not a misprint, it is a NEW case) It cost $250 more than a non-repair Divco service. What that means is, I would have had to find a $250 case and send it to Divco to arrive at my goal. Not gonna happen.
