Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

block for cessna 182 HD nose gear

Hi everybody. I am looking for a replacement block for my HD nose gear on my 1969 182. Mechanic said that cessna no longer makes this part. Anybody know the name of a salvage yard that might have a block or even a complete replacement heavy duty nose gear? I am scared of the price tag on the airglas fork!!
Thanks,
Chris

Chris, You might want to try Plain Parts 916-655-3100.

Here's another option.

Call Linda at:
Buckeye Airmotive
5115 Hubler Ln, Caldwell, ID
(208) 455-1742‎

She located on Hubler Field just north of Caldwell airport.

$650.00 just for the block  . But it is a nice machined block anodized bronze or gold.

This is the spacer between nose strut and fork? One word (?) : "owner produced part". Shouldn't be much for any decent machinist to knock out one of these.

Beware that this is the forged fork. As a result, the only 7.00 that will fit is the condor tire and it has to have a narrow wall design....the bent fork is lots better and will take any 7.00x6 tire.

Did not know that the forged fork was a bit narrower on the inside. Also did not know the condor tire is narrower. I have the bent fork with 600's all the way arround. Will put the 700's on the mains that I bought from Bmurrish last summer or was that spring.
