Bob Barrows, Bearhawk designer, injured in accudent
Debrief, share, and hopefully learn from the mistakes of others.
Just read on AvWeb that Bob Barrows was in an accident yesterday. Apparently hit wires during landing approach.
He has injuries, but apparently not life threatening.
I hope he has a full and rapid recovery .

If that picture is accurate, I'm at a bit of a loss as to how someone could hit wires on the approach or departure end of a runway. I guess B. Barrows is, too.

From the Bearhawk forums:
FYI - I just spoke with Bob and he sounded pretty good.
He said the wire he hit was new since the last time he had flown into this grass trip. No balls on it, and it was hidden by trees. He said the airport had been bugging the power company to put some balls on the wire, but they had not done so. Mark

there's a legal action just waiting to happen against a utility.

Man looking at the front of that airplane he’s lucky. Real testament for his design. Glad he’s on his way to recovery.
I have nightmares about wires.

Glad Bob will recover from this accident. I knew when I built my Patrol fuselage it was a strong design. The picture is a testament to that.
