Looking for any books that will help me understand flying weather better.... nothing weather specific just want to increase my knowledge. I have read the book about the sierra wave project and thats about it.

I'm a weather nerd and have a bunch of books on the subject, but some good ones are:
Weather Flying by Bob Buck. Great book by someone who's been there, done that. Awesome. Can't say enough good things.
Aviation Weather by Jeppesen for aviation-specific weather theory and info about how our aviation weather reports are produced and how to interpret them.

Ditto on both of these. I had the honor to meet Bob Buck several years ago, and he was the most pleasant and unassuming gent you can imagine, but what a wealth of knowledge of weather and aviation.

I run my weather station through WeatherUnderground. Great bunch of folks, with a huge amount of weather info and education available on the site and linked.

Gump,
What type of Wx station do you have? I was looking for one that has good enough quality to link onto wunderground. Any input would be good.

I have an Oregon Scientific WMR 968 wireless station, with Virtual Weather software to link it to the computer and Wunderground.
http://www.ambientweather.com/wmorscwiprwe.htmlIt's not top of the line by any means, and the software is real clunky, but once I figured it out, this station has been pretty much flawless for the past six years. When it goes Tango Uniform I'll look at a higher end unit with Oregon Scientific, or I may go with one of the pro units from Davis.
