Brake Master Cylinder Hose

Need to replace the lockoseal in the master cylinder. Might as well replace the hose while I am at it. Aeroquip 303 still the go-to hose? Was thinking teflon (Aeroquip666) might be a bit longer lasting and more flexible.

Re: Brake Master Cylinder Hose

666 all day long.

A) it isn't life limited like 303

B) it is small enough in the OD that it will fit in the C206 rubber fairing if you elect to run that down the back of your gear legs and clean them up. Don't ask for approval basis, you're on your own for that.

and
C) because it's superior. 303 is 'good enough' 601 is better (subjective), and 666 is best (ok maybe still subjective)
Brakes seems like a good place for 'best'

Take care, Rob
But I really like (B) 8)

Re: Brake Master Cylinder Hose

Thanks Rob. Just to be clear, I am referring to the hose at the master cylinder.

Ya know, I did read that, I guess I just assumed everyone else's plumbing experiences went like mine... Where typically something starts like changing the cartridge in a shower faucet, and ends with replacing the whole fixture, and 3' of pipe on each end because as soon as you touched the snowflake (my 180's name), it turned in to a snowball

Take care, Rob

So the Cessna brake hose assy p/n, S1167-4-xxxx, supersedes to 350-4-xxxx. Wonder if the new p/n is 303 or 666.

Re: Brake Master Cylinder Hose

FWIW, when installing a new manifold pressure hose last year, I didn’t have a mandrel for that size and did the assembly without. That process managed to cut a nice little plug out of the inside of the hose and closed the fitting off internally. Since it was on the new MVP-50, it ate up some trouble shooting time and wasn’t good for the ego.
