Re: Bucket list to fly ?

Here's a dream airplane I almost forgot about. The original Bugatti 100P was being built in the early days of WWII. When the Germans overran France, Bugatti disassembled the plane and hid it in a barn in the countryside so the Germans wouldn't capture his technology. The original never flew and it currently rests at the EAA museum in restored, but not flying condition. A team in Oklahoma is recreating a flying version of the plane and with a bit of luck it will fly this summer! Twin engines in the fuselage turning contra-rotating props at the nose. Wow! There is actually a steerable tailwheel inside that tiny fairing on the tail skid.

^^^^^That is gorgeous!!! The overhead shot really shows the lines.
Any idea what the holes/vents are in the stabilizer?
The counter-rotating prop deal makes my head hurt! Gotta be a nightmare getting it dialed in!!

Re: Bucket list to fly ?

The holes on the leading edge of the stabilizer are the radiator inlets for the engines. There is a detailed discussion of the plane and its history on their Facebook page. I know that's not everybody's favorite site, but it is a convenient location to share info and to build support for a project. They got their funding from Kickstarter.

The new LSA by BackCountry, The "Outlaw". Barring that, their current coyote hunter S-7 with a 135 horse Rotax and slats.

That twin engine homebuilt thing up in Alaska, forgot the name, that push/puller with the helicopter type pod for a windscreen.

"Lil Cub", another Alaskan homebuilt, it won Valdez last year.

That Caribou looks like a blast also! I love it when utility type, generally non sexy airplanes get to cut loose and holy shit look what it can do

Realistically? Get my BH Patrol built, and fly it all over Alaska. High on the list of places are:
up the rivers around Kotzebue,
the chain of lakes down toward Dillingham.
Explore beaches around Prince William Sound.
Katmai Park to see the Bears.

Then down to the Lower 48 to tour the Southwest. Places like monument valley, Grand Canyon, Moab, Bryce Canyon. Then to Idaho and places like Johnson Creek.

Pie in the Sky: I'd love to do all that in a DC-3/C-47. 8)
