Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

RIP, Arnie. I really like that show - and he seemed super nice.

Arnie came across as a 'half full' kind of guy. He was obviously a competent and confident captain and mentor.

"Yvette said her father died peacefully in his sleep, with a smile on his face. He had two children, four stepchildren and four grandchildren."

Godspeed Arnie.

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there,
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air....

Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace.
Where never lark, or even eagle flew —
And, while with silent lifting mind I have trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
- Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

Sorry to hear this but not surprised. His brief return to Yellowknife shown on this past season's show was eye opening on his condition. He had relocated to BC, a couple hours drive south of us. Would have been nice to have met him last July when we toured Buffalo Air's hangar, a day late and a dollar short. RIP. FF
