Greetings all!
My name is Mathias, and I'm a student at University of Tromsø School of Aviation, and currently doing my CPL/Frozen ATPL(A). All of my fellow students dream about flying large jets for well renowned airlines, but not me. My dream is flying float aircraft for a living, especially the De-Havilland Beaver. This is the main reason for me signing up for this forum; To get an insight of the community, and to learn all about it.
I have realized that the only way to furfill my dream is to look beyond the boarders of Northern Norway, and I am currently trying to build a network within the DHC-2/DHC-3, SEP-SEA and backcountry community to learn about the life as a float pilot in North America, and to get to know the right people in the business. And I am hoping that the people reading this could see the time to have a chat about the topic, and help me build a network, or just getting the right mindset and attitude that is required to become an excellent float pilot.
My current plan when I get my license is to take a SEP-SEA rating, pack my bags and fly over seas. And I sincerelly hope to have a network of people in the community when I arrive there.
This is my first post, and if I am in the wrong forum please let me know. And I hope to hear back from as many of you as possible.
