Building time in a high wing

Anyone in the Boise, ID area know of a rental place in particular that has Cessna 150's or 172's at a decent rate to build some X-country time in? I need about 37 more hours (just for IR) and have been flying nothing but an Archer low wing. Not a bad airplane, just want time in a high wing as this is what I ultimately want to fly anyway.

I know there is Pondersoa Aero Club which is an option but after fees and such I don't know...

Any advice that anyone has or may know of in particular around this area would be more than awesome.

Thanks,
Kyle

Jetstream charges $106/hr for a '66 172, and $118 for a '98 172 (i hear that one flying a lot). Hinkle Aviaiton in KEUL rents a C-150 for about $75/hr wet. Not sure what Glass Cockpit charges but I bet it is close to Jetstream. I agree the flying club (Ponderosa or T-Craft in KMAN) may not make financial sense for what you want to do... unless you decided to get your IR training from them as well, then it would probably pay off and you would have access to a wide variety of airplanes to fly.

If I were in your shoes and the rental rates were about the same where you are at, I would just continue flying Archers or rent the most economical 172 you can find to meet your x/c requirement. If that means switching over to highwing at a later point in time, so be it. They are similar enough it is not a big deal.
