That thing looks like somebody forgot to take the padlock and log chain off the prop.
My sympathies.

Lynn Sanderson (Dirtstrip) passed away from natural causes in May 2013. He was a great contributor and will be missed dearly.

Re: Bush Mods for Single-Engine Cessna's

The 172 belongs to an uncle of mine, a kid threw a brick through his windshield and that was his repair for the flight to get the windshield replaced. The 170 is parked next to his 172 on the ramp, belongs to a friend, and well, it's just time for a new prop...it's one of those old bush planes that gets treated like an old battle wagon. Apparently he gave up on filing the nicks out at some point. He still flies it with that prop.

And to think I replaced a prop for some microscopic corrosion pits you could only see with a magnifying glass! #-o

I wondered what happened to the blade off my lawnmower- now I know where it went.

Re: Bush Mods for Single-Engine Cessna's

Back to normal? Haha, I don't think McGrath will ever be the same without him. He flew for Tanana Air for 6 months and quit 3 days after I started there, then went to fly for Mag Air (main competition in MCG). Then he quit Mag Air after about 6 months and took off to fly for a corporate jet outfit down in the states. I quit Tanana a few years later, and started flying for Mag...I'm only about the 10th pilot to go through the Tanana Air Cherokee 6 academy and quit to go fly real airplanes (C206) for the competition. If it wasn't so much fun here I'd quit and follow him into the jets... :)

Jacen is down in Houston (Hobby) Texas.
He still has the 170 but put an O-300 in it after throwing a rod through the case and dead sticking it into Cibeque, NM near Show Low.
Have fun up there and maybe I'll see you up there this Summer.
I'm also going to the Trade Show if your going to be there.
