C-180 cowl flaps won't stay in position

The cowl flap lever will not stay in the selected position on my 180H. Whatever position I select, the handle always creeps back to the halfway point. The cowl flap control lever has an axle type thing that it pivots on near the center of the handle. One end sticks out from the panel with the knob, the other end is connected to the cowl flab cables. The panel has detents that keep the handle in the desired position. It seems as though the hole in the handle where the axle goes through is worn to the point that the handle is turning sideways and not grabbing the detents on the panel. I thought about removing the handle and bushing the hole that the axle goes through. Another option would be to increase the size of the axle, which I think is just a AN bolt. Best option I guess would be to just replace the handle, although I have no idea as to price or availability. Any thoughts or ideas on this would be appreciated.
Thanks

180H covers a lot of years and changes - Bust, since no one else has taken a shot at it, I will try, then MTV can correct or fill out the details. :D

Best I can find is that you do not need to ream it an sleeve it. Looks like Cessna already did that for ya.

There should be a sleeve Item 22 - hope my memory lasts an hour. NAS 43HT3-88 (Orig. #)
Believe it has been shortened. This type of sleeve is used in other places that I have "snugged up" on my 170.

In case the Panel PLATE for Cowl Flaps has "rounded" corners try 0713755-4

Hope I am close, old vision and old blurry, on-line, manuals don't always mix well.
