C 182 with Horton and VGs change to Sportsman STOL and VGs
Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

Im thinking about doing this change.
I keep reading and hearing good things about the Sportsman STOL
Will it make a noticeable difference?
According to the Stenne aviation owner 7 to 10 mph slower stall speed than the Horton.
If this is real , I would really be happy with this.
Has anyone done this change?
Owners of the Sportsman how do you like your and how are they in windy conditionds? Gusty crosswinds?

I think if'n it was me I'd spend the money on gasoline and flying time to make me fly better, rather than try and make an already nice flying airplane fly better.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
I have a '65 180 with a Horton/Micro VG combination. Flies great. 40 knot TAS stall speed at mid weight and 2000 ft D.A. Power on to maintain altitude. The AOA is so high at the stall I can't believe that the sportsman makes more than a slight difference. It flies off the ground in the three point attitude and the tail will hit long before the mains on landing. steve

Just my thought, worth whatcha paid for it.
If I'm readin this right, you already have a Horton kit and Vg's??? If that's the case, not enough difference for the money to do the change. Get some GOOD instuction, buy gas, and go practice what you have been taught.
