Hey dogpilot! Yeah, that's why I'm going to continue to fly it, since I believe that the engine has to adjust and settle. We'll see how it goes.

No, this was not a Honduran airplane. As a matter of fact, it was a Canadian Dakota, and after the war it flew corporate in Canada and the States, and then airline in the US and then Guatemala until coming to El Salvador to an air taxi operation. It spent five years out to pasture until I bought it in 1998. I've been restoring it ever since.

Nice find. I was referring to Hanger 6, on the Salvadorian Air Force Base. Kind of notorious. I picked up a Hughes 500 there that had all the ID plates scraped off, blades, boxes, even the rudder pedals. There where a few C-47's out back weighting down the ramp to keep it from levitating into the sky.

Radials really have personality. I always loved starting them, takes almost 6 fingers & three hands. You can do some note taking and get a trend at same altitudes, speeds, power & prop settings, see where it goes. Oil can make a difference as well, they use a lot, almost 2 stroke in consumption, but there where more choices in the past, but it has limited down now. I can't recall if the pump could be adjusted with washers under the regulator ball's spring, its been since the 70/80's since I screwed with them.

We already added washers and adjusted the pressure under the regulator ball's spring. I helped some, but it seems that just flying it is helping even more.
