C182 Battery Ground Strap Replacement Options?
Have problems with your aircraft? Maybe just questions about how best to tune or adjust something? Regs or maintenance? Need to know the best way to do something?
Aside from the full blown copper replacement kit from Bogert, are there other options to simply replace the short braided battery ground strap with a copper one? When searching for the oem part number it looks like I can only find used parts or ridiculously expensive straps.
1962, 182E is the plane in question.
Thx!

Keep the Greasy side down!
Owner produced part. I replaced the ground straps on my previous plane and current plane with a scrap of 4 gauge arc welding cable. Soldered connectors on both end and put heat shrink over the solder. Don't ask how much it cost, I borrowed everything from the parts room at work both times. You can buy battery cable and connectors from Aircraft Spruce.
Owner produced par.
