Cable measurements for Aero 3000

Can anyone tell me the front cable measurement for an aero 3000 ski installation on a PA-12, with 3" ext gear, and AD springs?

Thanks much.

Keep the shiney side up and the dirty side down...

Too many variables to RELIABLY cite a firm number for that cable.

Install the skis, THEN determine he needed length cables, and MAKE them on site. All it takes is a swedging tool and some collars, as well as the cable. It's really not a big deal.

I would never try to order made up cables for skis, particularly for an airplane like a 12.

Re: Cable measurements for Aero 3000

TGorn,

Like MTV says, ski cable assemblies are made to fit.

Actually ski installations and their cables are one of those things on an aircraft where the installation is simple but a simple mistake installing will kill you faster then say loosing a primary control cable.

I would enlist an experienced A&P for the initial installation just to keep from doing something none of us want to read about later. That IA/A&P will come in handy as well for all that regulatory nonsense that our government believes to keep our aircraft airborne: W&B, form 337, airworthyness; you get the picture.

Should be someone in Nome that knows how to get this done for you.

I don't comment here often but figured you needed the advice. I like to read, be entertained, and every once in a while learn something new: like learning what those Xs on the back of my dipstick are for.
