Camping at Memaloose

Any BCP'er interested.

I'll be camping out at Memaloose this Friday p.m. (6/16) Then over to JC. Plan to get to Memaloose around 7 p.m. Be glad to have company if anyone's around.

Re: Camping at Memaloose

Hi Steve, have a great time. Some of us are going to Nehalem Bay Friday and Saturday night. It was in the "Northwest get togethers" thread. viewtopic.php?f=8&t=5606

Cheers...Rob

Hey,

Be sure to post an update on Memaloose on Shortfield. I'd like to check it out and would like to know current conditions.

Thanks,
GSP

Re: Camping at Memaloose

Have you (M5Guy) or any body else camped there before? Does it get windy up there? I kind of remember by pictures (and I flew over it once) that Memaloose is on top of a mt. ridge.

Have fun!!

Re: Camping at Memaloose

I have flown into and camped at Memaloose many times, but not yet this year. Several friends of mine landed there Sunday after we all left Garden Valley and one of them got his C-180 severely stuck in the mud at the north (downhill) end of the runway. So, keep any eye out for the mud.

And, yes, it can get very windy up there, so consider bringing your own tiedowns and don't forget to stake your tent or you'll be fishing it out of the Snake River.
