Nice pic, but if you were real cool (bold) you would fly that little thing between those pillars supporting the bridge tower. I'm sure your "Photo Shop" could manage that also.
{To make it more believable, dont use the same photo (flipped) that you use for your screen name for site.

I understand the FAA approved upstream departure from Wiley Seaplane base is under the Railroad bridge since to climb out of the valley or over the bridge is too steep to be safe.
Supposedly Dave strapped a FAA guy in the right seat and departed upstream and proved to him that over the bridge was dangerous and under the bridge was far safer.

It seems like this scenario has occurred more than once in history.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

Yeah, but it was either the plane or a picture of my grandaughter on a kiddies bike. I figured the plane had more relevance.

Always depends on whether the FAA wants to zing you for some reason. My boss was suspended in Alaska one time for float takeoff under the bridge. FAA ruled he needed at least one float touching water as he passed under. Now, where they read that... I could not say. Administrative law judge agreed though and issued suspension. Probably hundreds had done the same thing in Sitka... over the years. FAA has no sympathy for some pilots. Gotta Badge... gotta be cool and flash it.

Flying is dangerous. If you think otherwise, you are new at this sport. Mind the gravity not the gap.

My pilot stepdad(deceased) witnessed a biplane fly under the highway bridge in Pasadena some years back.

This is a good one, shot from an interesting perspective. Stopping the video just as it goes under, is a little revealing.

Flying under bridges, looping the Golden Gate (with N numbers covered and transponder off, of course) sounds like great fun.
But . . . when the public sees this sort of behavior it does irreperable harm to small GA.
