Catto Factory trip

Flew down to Catto today to pick up my new prop for my project. What a cool shop they have! Both Craig and Nicole rolled the red carpet out and gave us a tour.

You may or may not of heard that they lost there home and most everything in the recent fire but you would never know it. Camp Catto (as they call it) is in full force.

To say I was impressed would be an understatement.

Nicole trying to hide :) not a chance. She knows more about airplanes, engines and propellers than most. Seriously!!

The trip home was sure nice as well. Catto is about a 30 minute flight from Tahoe.

Re: Catto Factory trip

The aviation world seems to maintain a level of personal customer service not found in many other industries. Always nice to shake the hands that crafted the parts going on your airplane. Looks like an awesome little day trip!

Re: Catto Factory trip

Craig Catto is a first rate guy, an innovator, and a big asset to aviation. Craig, and Jim Rust at Whirlwind, and Lonnie Prince... experimental aviation is truly fortunate to have really good propeller guys available.

Re: Catto Factory trip

I am running a Catto prop on our Citibria amphib float plane. I am very happy with it! Is there any word of his props becoming certified? How about a constant speed 3 blade to compete with MT?

Northern California, "gold country", western foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Forgot the name of the town, but it's near Columbia, CA.

Wait a second... "Mokelumne Hill" I think is the name of his town.

Re: Catto Factory trip

They are located at Westover, KJAQ. On the North end of the field. Worth the trip to check out for certain!

Re: Catto Factory trip

Might be fun to sneak thru KJAQ on the way home from a fly-in.

How long have they been at KJAQ?
