Cessna 180 landing gear seal

Hey guys, what are you using for the landing gear seal, that goes around the gear where it enters the fuse? Yingling has them for over 300 bucks each! P/N 0713018-3

If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.

Re: Cessna 180 landing gear seal

Mine are old and cracking, so I am interested in a more reasonably priced alternative as well.

Re: Cessna 180 landing gear seal

Mine seem to have been removed in an apparent ill-advised attempt at weight reduction, but I would think a strip of burn certified Selkirk foam glued to itself with Weatherstrip adhesive would work.

Re: Cessna 180 landing gear seal

OK, No leads on this.... I guess its time to hit up McFarlanes to come up with these seals. They say they like doing easy high demand parts like this. Mine are trashed from yearly float changes.

Re: Cessna 180 landing gear seal

Lesuther,

I just bought a set a few months ago from probably the same source that Shortfielder is aware of - I think they were $35 bucks or so but I could be mis-remembering. Definitely under 60.

I haven't put mine on yet - waiting for annual - and deciding if I want to go to different wheel/brakes.

The guy advertises in the type club newsletter about the gear seals.
