Was that considered a prop strike?

Prop was splashed but did not touch the water.

Another enjoyable video for this versatile aircraft.

Am guessing with one crew, half tanks the stall speed is around 85% of MAUW. MAUW might increase landing distance by 35-50%?

Re: Cessna 182 water assisted landing

What makes power/pitch airspeed reduction on short final useful is that we can utilize the slower than Vso stall airspeed, in low ground effect, prior to the desired touchdown point rather than after.

Motoadve uses the AOA indicator/audio. Even without that, however, the airspeed indicator is not what I am willing to rely on at those slow airspeeds. The POH does not give the in low ground effect airspeed that his, or any 182, is at when it touches down. Wait, that should be when any 182 touches down properly.

Badazz!

I can only imagine the shocked expression on the trout when the 182 slips over their head at 45 MPH!

Re: Cessna 182 water assisted landing

I see that nose pitching down hard as the mains touch the water below planing speed...

I have experienced that once before, just once. #-o
