Cessna Corrosion Inspection & 337s on Prepurchase Inspection

Hi guys,
Ive been checking out a 182 to buy and the logs say the the CPCP was done but there was no info about what they did. Did they remove the wings? Spray the inside? Find anything? Etc... Im wondering how important this during a pre purchase? I've heard the actual inspection can cost $15,000 and be very invasive. Have most of you had to go through this? Is it an absolute must on any pre-purchase on a 60's and 70's Cessna?

Also, there are a ton of 337s missing in the logs from all the modifications. I believe these arent needed for private use, but it would be nice to be able to use for commercial purposes someday and have that option. Or at least a potential next owner would say the same thing and price should reflect it. What is the communities thoughts on this?

Thank you in advance! Always appreciate all of the great advice on this forum.

If it's only the 337's missing, you should be able to get them from the FAA assuming they were ever filed. If they were never filed, it's not legal for any use, private or commercial. You can get the FAA records CD mailed to you for $10 but I prefer using the aerospace-reports.com for $35 and is same day with digital files delivered via email.

We may know each other in real life... I live/fly in Boulder.

What's a CPCP?
I assume from your comments that it's some kind of corrosion inspection?
If it's an official Cessna thing, there should be some of published procedure or protocol.

Ditto ASA's comments re 337's.
I just get the FAA CD(s)-- they're a bargain at $10.
