Cessna haircut

We had just cleared Canadian customs in Fort Francis Ont. Snow was real deep and I had Airglass wheel penetration skis on the Old Cessna 180. My buddy taxied out behind me with his 180 on Federal straight skis. I started my takeoff run without backtaxieing all the way to the threshold. About 1500 ft later I was still plowing with the wheel skis and quickly running out of runway ,she just wouldn`t get off. So rather than meet the trees I chopped power to try again only using the entire 2100 ft. runway this time. As soon as I pulled back power this Godawful sound roared past taking my #1 com antennae with it!! Anxious to get to the Lake trout my Buddy unnamed, unknown to me had turned right behind me and was doing a formation takeoff in the fresh heavy snow! The rest of the trip was uneventful. Oh and needless to say I always let him takeoff first.

That Rascal,

besides trying to shorten my plane and my lifespan, also never reimbursed me for the antennae his skis clipped off!! Time to make a merry xmas phone call.

Think that antenna would have been shoved where the sun don't shine when I saw that "buddy."
