This has probably already been covered in here somewhere, but does anybody know if Cessna will still pay for the "reel type" seat stops that are mounted under the seat? I had them installed for free on my old 172 but that was years ago. My current 172 doesn't have them and If they won't pay for it now I still would like to get a set at least for the pilots side. Anyone know how I can order them?

Cessna will pay for the hardware but not the install. Cost me about $150.00 for the install. Had it done at Thun in October.

When I had the pilot side installed last year, I was told that it had to be done at a Cessna authorized repair facility for Cessna to pay for both the labor and the parts. It's pretty much of an all day job, so labor isn't insignificant. I think the parts alone ran around $1500, but don't quote me. Then afterwards, my IA told me that the parts are available through Yingling in Wichita, if I wanted to do the passenger seat, too, but I haven't had that done--I have a pair of Safe T Stops on it.

As of last fall, Cessna was no longer paying for the labor. Depending upon the model it only takes about two to three hours at most to install. I have had it installed in my 170b and my 182. It was more difficult to install in the 170. I would not have a 100 series Cessna without this equipment. I have had too many close calls with the seat releasing even though I had checked the seat for security.
