Chamberlain Meadows campsite

On June 2, I and another BCP member landed at Chamberlain to walk around some and check out the area. We were pretty disappointed in the condition of the campsite just southwest of the runway intersection. Apparently, somebody had camped there over Memorial Day and they left a mess around the firepit---lots of egg shells, tinfoil, etc. This is the first time since I started camping there in the late 70's that I have seen a mess left behind. So, my purpose in posting this is just to bring attention to the fact that some pilots are forgetting to clean up these wilderness campsites, which might become important in being able to continue enjoying them. BTW, other than our survival gear, we had nothing with us to collect the stuff so hopefully the next group was able to.

Re: Chamberlain Meadows campsite

Good reminder to always carry along a trash bag or two.

Thanks!

Thanks for posting this. The satisfaction of cleaning up then enjoying a soiled camping or fishing spot always fixes the disappoint and brings about a good bit of joy.
