change in flight plan

So, Homeland Security became interested in this fellow because he changed his flight plan............Interesting.

Allan Ritcher, who is described as being from Alaska in the story by police, was making a multileg trip from California to Arizona and declared at a stop in Oklahoma that he on his way to Alabama, when his flight plan deviation led him to the Clark County Regional Airport. Wave3 reports that when Ritcher's sudden destination change sent up red flags to Homeland Security, they contacted state police, who called in a K9 unit. A hit by the dog led to a search warrant. On board Ritcher's airplane was more than 200 pounds of pot, which Wave3 estimates has a street value of $300,000.

Re: change in flight plan

I would bet money they had other info regarding this guy prior to the contact by the State Police, other then just a change in his flight plan. The report might be a way for Homeland Security to look good. "Look at all the good we can do." So if changing a flight plan will raise a red flag, does that mean flying with no flight plan is even worse?????? We better all watch out.

He was flying from California to Arizona, stopped in Oklahoma, said he was going to Alabama, then went to Nevada :?: . Either he was very lost, or he had too many "samples" from his 200 pound cargo during the flight =D>

He's not a dope runner-- that 200 pounds was for personal use only.
