Chart subscriptions

There is a change at NACO and a the minimum sales for agents has now been increased from $500/yr to $5,000/yr.

As a result many of your smaller FBO's will probably no longer be chart agents.

For the charts that you use routinely the easiest way is to buy them from the source:
https://naco.faa.gov/ecomp/Default.aspx

The new charts arrive just before the old one expires. Totally easy and as low or lower cost than commercial sites.

I beg to differ.

NACO price for a sectional, $9.50.
PilotShop.com price for a sectional, $6.34.

Let's hope they can continue a volume of sales of charts greater than $5,000.

I've run into this minimum sales requirement with distributors, and it's kinda lame. It makes it difficult for the little guy who's trying to operate cash-only.

I've used Sporty's subscriptions for years and never had a problem with timeliness.
