Child seats and F Atlee Dodge folding seats
Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?
Hey guys. I'm just curious if anyone has ever used child seats with the Atlee folding seats. The Atlees look like they may be too narrow to strap a childs seat onto. Any comments are greatly welcomed.
Thanks!
David

David,
Mine are in the basement for the winter. I just measured them, they are 15 inches wide X by 13.5 inches deep. Not sure how that would work for your application. If you have not bought a plane yet, a friend just send me info on what seems to be a nice C180, priced right. e-mail if you are interested.

I'm curious too since I'll be doing this a lot when the 170 is done.

I have not tried strapping it in the atlee seat yet, but I figured worst case I fold the seat up and strap her to the floor using tie down rings. The nice thing about the atlee seats is being able to fold then up and out of the way in seconds. Should know if they work in the 180 in a few more weeks when the engine gets built and back in the bird.

I've seen a buddy strap a child car seat to the folding Atlee Dodge seats in the back of his Wagon for a 2 year old. Seemed to work really well, not sure the specifics but it only took a couple minutes at most to get it set up.
