Christmas Song

So my brother Mike shows up at our house in Daytona Beach just before Christmas. He has a dozen Dunkin Donuts and a big dead tree limb. The tree limb is neatly cut off on the big end and is glued to a round wooden base. Hanging off the one scraggly branch, by a few inches of fishing line, is a 45 round.

Can you guess the Christmas song the the dead limb and 45 round came from?

I will give you a hint. One line sounds like "Cartridge in a bare tree"
