I was talking to a guy that I work with about something similar. He wanted to know why we would put a small box of remains in a big cargo ship like a c-17 or a 130 and not just mail the remains back. He said, "What a waste of taxpayer dollars." (It really rubbed me the wrong way) I told him, they are bringing fallen soldiers home, honorably. I felt the need to tell him that is what the problem is with America today. Everyone forgets about the sacrifice that is made by our soldiers and the fact that he even can speak aloud about how our tax dollars are spent without getting his tongue cut out by some sadistic dictator was made possible by fallen soldiers that remains only fit inside a shoebox.
I myself never served, but I always thank a soldier when I see one. Patriotism is a dying concept, and my opinion is we have too many people in this country taking too much for granted.
