Cold, windy & vicious Spring weather Pacific Northwest

Brief summary of today’s weather Oregon & Washington.

Note:

(1) Snow in Willamette Pass (cumulative). Hard to believe.

(2) Gusts to 46 knots Columbia River Mouth. Don’t try any seaplane ops today.

(3) Heavy rain in coastal mountains

(4) IFR at least next (24) hours

(5) Historical climatology data suggests current weather “unusual”? Opinions welcome.

I just drove across northern Nevada....hardest snow I've seen all winter. Most of the way.

Good morning from the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Rain and gusts to 55 Knots are greeting the coast pilot/mariner near Pine Island, BC.

Year June-2017 flew Port Hardy -> Bella Bella route in an amphibious seaplane. Incredible place for seaplanes.

Weather is beautiful in Seattle, WA! 30 days until Summer Solstice, time to get out the camping gear and head backcountry soon…
