Cool video taken from an RC model
Links to general aviation backcountry flying-oriented videos. It can be yours or stuff you find on the internet. Please no airline/military.
My brother does this as a part time job. He developed all the software for the GPS overlay himself. It's pretty impressive what he does really. He wears a pair of virtual reality glasses with a live video feedback so he actually see's what the plane see's. He routinely flies to altitudes where he cannot see the plane with his naked eye. He then uses the GPS overlay to navigate back to himself. I've flown it and it's somewhat like your really flying. I got spatial d'd one time and almost fell over. The area in the video is somewhere near Walla Walla, WA.

That is really cool. I have always wanted to build a setup like that. What kind of camera and RC plane does he use?
I found this guy's page where he has mounted his Canon digicam inside the fuselage of his RC plane, and the lens stick thru the side. Kinda interesting, not nearly as cool as your brother's thing. Some of the photos of the pilots are..very interesting.

Hey joey, there is some scottish dudes that actually crossed the atlantic with a gps driven system. They had a guy waiting on the eastern sea board of america. crap was cool. they thought they lost it because it was late arriving, but after looking at the flight profile, it had been doing s-turns b/c of upper level wind shifts they hadnt thought about. nick
