copalis beach airport

WS-DOT Aviation is closing Copalis Beach state airport for the day on tuesday March 13, to do some work. Sounds to me like some of this may be signage changes to address the new & improved Olympic Coast marine refuge. http://www.wsdot.wa.gov has more info.

Re: copalis beach airport

Click on the second link (regulations poster).... it sez flying below 2000' within a mile of the shoreline is prohibitted, from the mouth of the Copalis River north, yet "takeoffs & landings at Copalis Beach airstrip is unaffected". Typical beauracratic double-talk! Why didnt they just set the southern boundary of the sanctuary at Point Grenville?
