I have had these wheels sitting in my hangar for the past year and a half. Originally they were in my garage but I moved them to the airfield to make some room for garage-type stuff.
Anyways, I noticed my 6.00x6s were getting a little worn so I decided to bring these home to grease the bearings and get them ready for install.
I had no idea that 1) my hangar leaked this much and b) these would corrode like this.
My next step is to just swap the tires onto the currently-mounted wheels, and start looking for another wheel half to get this set back up to snuff so I can build up a spare with 6x6s to fit under the wheel pants (should I ever wish to install them). Anyone have an extra wheel half sitting around?
Anyways, I may be the only idiot to do this but just in case anyone else was storing wheels in a leaky hangar I thought I'd share my mistake.
