Cottonwood Island (Columbia River)

Don't know if anyone knows what's happening on Cottonwood. Last time I flew over, "Cottonwood International" has been obliterated. Looks like major fill has been put down and graded.

The're getting ready to dredge the river, they will pump the dredge tailings into those spots they have cleared and bermed up around.

Does anyone who lives in that area know who actually owns Cottonwood? County websites often have parcel maps which show ownership, but it takes a little computering to find the info.

Looks like ownership is in the State of Washington's name as well as The Port of Kalama ETAL.

Go to the Cowlitz County, WA assesors site here: http://www.cowlitzinfo.net/netmaps25/index.html

I'm a Landman by trade so this little job was right up my alley.

Re: Cottonwood Island (Columbia River)

Checked it out- looks like one parcel is owned by state of WA, all the other parcels owned by Port of Kalama.
I seem to remember hearing something about a tribal interest in Cottonwood, it was several years ago so don't recall any details.
