Crawford Bay, BC - Mostly Pictures

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Crawford Bay, BC - Mostly Pictures

Hello Backcountry Pilots,
Took a short trip up to Canada this weekend, a great Friday the 13th. The Canadian "Canpass" and US "Eapis" was doable, but definitely a bureaucratic challenge. Cleared Customs at Castlegar, BC then flew over Nelson, Kootenia Lake and camped at Crawford Lake, BC. The long grass airstrip at Crawford Bay was in great shape, with nearby, cabins to rent, pubs, ect. This would be a great place for a family flying vacation with a real nice beach too.
Well it looks like I got this border crossing thing down and look forward to flying to Alaska in August. Hope these 100LL prices come down some too!
James

Very cool. Thanks for sharing this!

My family and I are planning a BC trip this year, partially to get some experience with the border crossing stuff for a future Alaska trip. This looks like the perfect destination.
