well, here it is...I think I'm in the right spot for writing this...Thanks Zane! I'm not one to stretch things out too long so here it is. My dad finished building the Tundra and had been sitting in Montreal for one year.. we planned on flying it back to the Yukon/Alaska on th 15th of April.. weather was bad so we left on the 18th and made it to Whitehorse on the 20th... total: 2.5 days, 30.5 hrs. Avg speed: 135 MPH with a constant 20mph head wind.. We flew from Montreal to Northbay, Wawa and Dryden on the first day. Next day from Dryden to Kenora, Yorkon then was planning on Buffalo narrows in Northern Saskatchewan but we were met by a squall of precip that we couldnt go around... so detour via La Ronge, Saskatchewan where we had lunch and chill out for 1.5 hrs. Then off to Buffalo narrows followed by a long leg to Peace River, Alberta, landing at night. The next day took us to the mountains, we left Peace River for Ft St-John's with two Jerry cans of 100ll / 5g us and landed in Toad River where we ate at the lodge and filled up the Tundra with the 10ga and off to Watson Lake, Yukon. Then a quick leg to Whitehorse Yukon.
We struck gold as far as weather went...really not much at all. Mechanically impeccable machine, great people along...
Fuel cost ranged between $1.65 to $2.25 per liter
Well, here are some photos...any questions, drop me a line or stop by Whitehorse (CYXY)
Cheers, BCT
