CubCrafters at the Alaska State Fair

I would like to extend an invitation to all BCP pilots to visit CubCrafters at the Alaska State Fair ongoing in Palmer, Alaska right now.

We have a booth with a skeleton for our new EX-2 Carbon Cub kit here in the show. The assembled kit (less skin, engine, and avionics) is a great chance to actually see the internal structure and engineering that makes the Carbon Cub 300 lbs. lighter (yet stronger) than a legacy cub, and how we make it both faster and have given the Carbon Cub a lot more useful load than the classic Piper product. With the entire airframe, wings and empennage assembled yet uncovered, you can really understand why the Carbon Cub is the two place tandem best-of-class bush plane in both the LSA and the EAB class.

Meet Jim Richmond (the owner of CubCrafters) at the booth to talk about the history and design philosophy of the Carbon Cub. Mitch Travis (our kit program technical guru) is also on show staff to answer any questions about the kit build process, and Keenan Zerkel (our local Alaska dealer) is there to talk about bush flying with a Carbon Cub in Alaska. Any and all questions are fair game.

For those really interested, I also have a finished Carbon Cub FX builder assist version of the same aircraft stationed at the Palmer Airport for demonstration rides. If you're in the area, come give us a visit and learn more!

Zzz,

The Alaska State Fair is your average state fair. We wanted to share our products with a broader audience. It is a great opportunity for people in Alaska to come out and see what CubCrafters is all about!

Hi Max, thanks for the explanation. Sounds like good grass roots outreach. 8) I wish my state fair invited airplanes.

Checked out the booth yesterday. Very nice looking plane.

Outside my budget for now, but great looking plane.

A few years back when Mary Shu had a flight school here they had a booth at the Deschutes County Fair and taxied a C172 over for the week! Not as cool as a Carbon Cub but still pretty cool to have an airplane in the middle of the fairgrounds!
