Handguns (revolvers & pistols) too are allowed, with the above forms, and I believe being locked up a bit differently than the long guns. I've never bothered with a sidearm, but I know a few guys who have, and they all said it was pretty much a non-issue.

Re: Customs Flying Washington to Alaska

Some great information here guys, thanks.

I have been doing some hard thinking about things, I am thinking after the end of this semester as everything starts to thaw I am going to pack on out of here in my Jeep and head for Alaska.

I just have to finish getting the jeep put together, I think I am going to finish my last 3 semesters of college online. We will see on that, but right now I am wanting to get out of Texas pretty bad.

Bringing long guns into Canada is a total non-event, I've done it many times. Also the fee for a 909 form is $25CDN not $50.There's room for 3 guns on the form, but you can bring more for the flat fee, and it's good for quite a while. Have your papers filled out ahead & be upfront about it as soon as they ask what's on board. They really could care less, never been made to feel like I was an outlaw by customs, last time they didn't even look at the gun! Fly the route you want, but don't let that be your determining factor for picking a safe route.
