Cylinder Break-in: C170B O300A 8042 prop

Hey all - just poking around for anyone's experience. Somewhat narrow question.

Does anyone do anything special when breaking in new cylinders when driving a C170B with the stock engine and the 8042 prop? You run out of prop/rpm before you run out of power in cruise. So even down low, you're only running 18-19" MP with the prop spun out at 2600+RPM. Anything higher, and you're well back at 16-17" to avoid overspeed.

I've had good luck breaking in like that, so I guess it's running hard enough, but it seems a little out of the recommended range.

Just a discussion topic for a bored Friday at work. Naturally I'm on this forum instead of, well, working.

Personally, I would put a 7653 or some other appropriate cruise prop to get the engine under load.
